expensive hobby??? live stock price in Asia

just saw a post on a saltwater forum about live stock price.
a member got this clam from a warehouse for ¥30 which is $4.8 USD
all the other stuff r pretty cheap as well.
the retail for powder blue is ¥98 around $16 USD
i wish i can get all the stuff with that price!!!

I would imagine its the fact most of this doesnt have to fly around the world to get there, and any added customs, and fees associated with wildlife. Also I dont think most the eastern countries are as strict on harvesting.

Yea it would be interested to see what a queen angel, blue tang or other Caribbean fish costs there which has to fly a long distance to arrive.

I know stateside, there is a pretty large variation in prices depending on the wholesaler.  Quality wholesalers will sell these fish for $25-50 or so depending on size.  I have seen them for under $20 however that same wholesaler has clown triggers listed as small (not the tiny baby size) for $9.95!

Yeah, look where they are located geographically.  Prime location for great livestock with out all the middle men.

Not everybody can get wholesale prices so using them for comparison isn't fair.
