live rock for sale
« on: April 05, 2009, 11:39:44 »
Hi all,

I had too much rock in my 180. Now that I'm moving down to a 125 I definitely need to sell some live rock. This has all been in my tank for more then 3 years, so it is established. There have been casualties and breakeage from the move into and out of the tub, so the rock might come with various pieces of sps and montis that may or may not grow, depending on what pieces you want. One other thing my rock comes with is aiptasia. Be warned. No other baddies that I know of.

How about $1.50 a pound?

There is a mix of sizes, from small to fairly large. Most of the rock is the "boulder" type, not the branch type. There are a few shelf pieces. The boulder rocks have a pretty healthy amount of porosity. The shelf pieces are denser.

An overall picture will just look like a tub-full-o-rock.

I also would like to get some, I don't need any real big pieces and only a couple at that. Do you think you could estimate an average size (lbs)?

Not easily available. I can check on my wifes' computer and see if we have one. It was a 150 gallon tank with mostly SPS and a light fish load. There were aiptasia in the tank, but it was not overrun.

A picture of the rock will look like a tub-o-rock. Not a lot of information unless I take individual pics of each piece.

Dan,
I tried to pm you but your box is full.
Thanks again for the rock.
Once we get the apstasia under control then the rock will work great!

I did notice lots of tiny star fish on the rock and the walls of my tank that I setup.
Have you seen these?  Any insight?
Thanks and God Bless,
John

My tank has a fairly large population of little starfish. I never saw them do anything but crawl around and look cool in the several years I've had that rock. I think they are harmless.
