Thanks Andy for that offer!  That's so nice of you and your wife!

Well, there seems to be headway.  One of my friends received her dress.  I still haven't heard anything on mine, but there's hope still!

I think I'm going to wait through the weekend before coming up with an alternative.

I just picked up the dress.  I can't tell you how relieved I am.  Sharon did not fulfill all of the contract (which cost me an extra $200 to go buy the rest of the items, but I'll fight that later.)

Sharon never paid the dress manufacturer for the bridesmaid dresses, even though they paid in full...so the girls will have to pay again for the dresses if they want them.  How awful!  We're still fighting that aspect.

As of yesterday, Sharon Arnett filed Chapter 7 bankruptcy.  The majority of girls do not have their dresses...and never will.

Just an update...

Sharon Arnett filed for personal bankruptcy, and her court date was today.  Most girls never got their dresses, as we predicted.  Even though she filed bankruptcy, she just got a new car through Cash for Clunkers...AND...she's already back to work in the wedding dress industry working for Impressions Bridal.  Unfortunately for us, the laws protect her too well in this...we have pretty much no case.  The State Attorney General's Office is still trying to press a criminal case, but it's going to be a long time before they have enough evidence and their case built up enough to do anything.

Wow, that is crazy. Some people really know how to work the system, even if its at the expence of others. Sorry once again Nikki.

Thankfully my bank covered what I paid with my credit card...but one of my bridesmaids didn't get her dress and had to re-order it (and re-pay for it).  I helped out with the cost, but it didn't make things right.  It was a ton of hassle for us...a lot of worrying during one of the most stressful times in our lives.  Sharon Arnett needs to do some serious jail time and community service time.  She needs to see what life is like on the other side of the fence.  We're still fighting...for the girls that never got their dresses...and so Sharon can never do this again.

It really is amazing how the system protects peices of crap and honest hard working people get screwed.  Sometimes when people do stuff like that they have a series on mishaps that end up costing them a lot of money.  It's really strange how things like that magicly happen. :)  Tires and things really add up.

Seriously though I hope you manage to get some retribution for the trouble you went through.  Can you take her to civil court.  You should be able to get something for your mental destress as well as any money you were out.  Good luck.

Kennv431 - Thank you for posting that.  Most of the girls had not heard that news yet and were left in the dark about the status of SharNett's bankruptcy.  My blood still boils over that.

Rayman, thank you for the offer.  Thankfully I received my dress in time (married back in August), but my bridesmaids had to pay a 2nd time for their dresses since Sharon never paid the manufacturer for the dresses.  Many of the girls in the same situation have been going to Lillian's...apparently they've been very helpful.  I'll pass the word on to any other girls still trying to solve the problem.

As far as I'm aware, there is still a criminal case being pursued against her, but it will likely take about 2 years to gather the evidence and make a case last I heard.
