WTT - Large zoanthid or paly rock
« on: September 11, 2010, 10:20:58 »
Large 8-10" long by 5-6" wide colony of zoanthids or palys, not sure what they are.  Base stalks are at least 1" long and .25" in diameter on each polyp.  There's 200-300 polyps on this colony.  99% are same color, pinkish center dot, straight line across disk, disk is yellowish-greenish tan with pinkish-tan fringe.  Each polyp is .75-1" in diameter.  There's als some large red/black and bright green/black polyps, and some smaller oranges and purples at the bottom.

Want to trade for something colorful / bright zoa mat, torch, frogspawn, hammer, or anchor, or nice colony of colorful large star polyps.

I have a torch you can have, two heads. It was a rescue from Jacks that has been laying in my sand for a few months. Looks like it finally healed!

Yep.  I am too.  The reason that the rock came out was to get the gorilla crab hiding in it.  Never came out of the rock, never fell out into the tank.  We have one crab left in the tank, and not certain of the one that was on this rock's whereabouts.

Thanks, but this rock is no longer up for trade.  Everything on it was trashed looking for the crab.  I appreciate the offer.

Kev

Your going to have to find about where he hangs out, they typically don't move far from thier shelter.  Once you know where he is, set a trap.  Take a 20oz bottle, cut the top off of it then invert the top back into the bottle.   Put some food in there, you may need a rock or two in it too to keep it from moving around.  Then set the bottle near where his hidout is.....when the lights are out.   He should go in.
