what brand, watt power supply do u have?watt don't mean any thing if u have a cheap brand power supply, they could rate 800w only put out 250w
sounds like your system should handle bf3 pretty good, people use old card like 4850 still play good
but if u have one of those cheap power supply then u will have the problem you state

Well.....it been a while....I couldn't remember.....so I checked tonight.  It had a no name 550 watt power supply.  I have a Ultra 650 watt that was in my last gaming machine....so I'm going to throw that in tonight and we'll see what happens.

No change........and I didn't really expect there to be.  I did nearly trash my CPU in the process tonight.  To get the PSU out I have to remove the monstrous CPU cooler, and when I did that I didn't realize the cpu came out of the socket with it....it was stuck on there that good.  Of course I bumped it, bent pins, and I spent the next hour and a half tweaking pins back into place.  What a fun evening it was.

coo..... I am waiting on a price and opinion on my build.

Any thoughts if it's worth paying $75-150 more going from a quad core 3.9Ghz to a 4.1Ghz quad core?

Also a little fuzzy on video cards..... Dual 2GD GDDR5 AMD Radeon HD6950 vs 3GB Nvidia GTX590 vs +$100 4GB GDDR5 AMD HD6990

is one that much better then the other?

cpu i really don't think it worth paying $75.00 -$150.00 to gain 200mhz increase
i do think intel cpu is the cpu to buy right now as sandy bridge cpu does have best price per performance
so i think i7 2600k overclock is bang for the buck now

gpu wise i will get a 460gtx now ,it will play bf3 very nice only cost $120.00
because the new gpu will be come out by December,it will be faster & better, any high end current card is going to drop,so i will wait on the better newer card come out so don't have to upgrade for awhile

I think I may be going the AMD 8 core route, mainly because there seems to be some discussion over the validity of a LOT of the Bulldozer benchmarks as many of them were done with pre-production chips.  I've also read that they overclock well, which is another big plus in my book.  We'll see what happens though, as one of my buddies at work is putting together his new SandyBridge system this weekend.  It may sway me back to Intel, but I haven't had one of their CPU's in my gaming rig in a LOT of years.
