Moving a big tank, need movers
« on: June 26, 2020, 13:26:31 »
So I have an opportunity to buy a 8 ft 240 glass tank. My main problem is getting the tank from the stand to a truck. Then I need to take it from my truck back to the stand once home. Tank is in northern Cincinnati, Trenton to be exact. Looking for ideas or suggestions of where to look for tank movers. I would consider having the tank delivered if that would work too. Aquarium Artisans said no already. Liability.

Thanks guys.

I appreciate the thought. I would ne d at least 6 guys but probably 7 or 8. Thatís one big heavy tank.  Anyone know where to get a lift cart that you can jack up to the height of the tank and use the cart to roll it out to the truck?

Any idea how much the tank would weigh? Is it glass or acrylic? I have access to a lift cart, but I think itís only rated for 600lbs.

Also any rental company should have those too, (sunbelt, arts, Franklin equipment)

All glass. No idea how heavy but my 180 was pretty heavy. I will check with rental places about a lift cart.

I just did a 7 foot 220 today with 4 guys and it wasnít very heavy at all. It was an oceanic tank as well which is usually heavier. Lol.
