i have  heard the u get better growth with 10k but lose color but u get better color with 20k  but with slow growth

Thats fairly accurate, but 20K growth depends on the bulb.

ive heard that 2 but havent heard 2 many people that love there 20ks with out runing supment lighting

Metal halides tend to lose PAR the bluer the lamp is.  Iwasaki 15000k bulbs are pretty blue and they have nice PAR for the color.
