Well We have decided to take out our 240g galss cages 8x2x2 and go with something a little different. Were going to go with a marineland 250 5'x3'x27". The tank should be here soon and i will take pic's along the way.

Sweet. I can see baggerhog sweating from my office already. Where are the 2x6s and lag bolts?

I was thinking the same thing?? That stand seems kind of "thin" to hold up 200+ gallons! :)  Oh maybe the guy that built mine was just over cautious...

Can't wait to see the finished product though.

Yes I would be. If you have a 250 you will be looking at about 2000-2400 lbs right with rock, sand, water, and tank?

Nah that stand is fine. Think about the turds manufactures sell with the tanks, they are pressboard junk.

its all 2x6 construction, the same as my 240. You guys have to remember i know longer have the room behind the wall so everything has to fit under the stand. All of the strength in the stand is in the legs anyways. The stand that marineland sells is 3/4" oak. Im useing 2x6 so im sure im going to be fine. I am also going to add a removable center support in the front and rear

Also all joints have dowel pins and wood glue to help holding them together

I like the removable center support!  That will be such a huge saver getting things in and out.

Sorry I have to work Monday or I'd be there.  If it comes in early and you want to do it Sunday, I'm game.

Looks good so far.

Okay that looks much better! ;)  Approval to proceed! :P  I love the picture with your son on it, really puts the size of the stand and the tank into perspective.

I have to be back on Centerville no later then 5:00.  I would need to leave your house by about 4:30 at the absolute latest.  If it can be done before that I'm in. I can atleast help you load it at Joel's when you pick it up.
