need advice

I would like to get input on what u think about the fishless cycling. does anyone recomend it?

i did it, i used raw fresh water shrimp

I've always heard to put a few shirmp in the blender and then pour into an ice tray and freeze.  Then throw a cube in each day.  You really want to mimic a constant fish load  by adding cube everydays vs just throwing some shirmp in at the beginning.  The only other thing that might be nice would be someway to hold the rotting shrimp while it cycles so you dont have a ton a rotting shrimp to vacumm out (read: huge Nitrate source).
