Some these white stringy worm like things have emerged from the rocks and sand, any ideas what these might be?

They are typical worms. They dont harm anything. They just eat detrus and whatever's dead.

They are hydriods from the jelly fish family. They have stinging cells and an irritant to corals when they come in contact with them. They have been know to spread rapidly and become a problem but it is not a common occurrence. Typically as they reproduce and compete for food they crash.

Should I try to get rid of them? And if yes then how?

These crazy things are everywhere now. I shined a flashlight in the tank a few hour after the lights went off and there were 50 or so in there
