Building a stand
«

Im going to be building a stand for my new 180. My question is does anyone have tips on how to build the stand or are there how to websites. Just want to make sure that the stand will hold the weight because I dont need that much water flooding the house lol. Any help would be great. Have to get info on how to do it because my dad does wood work so he will be building it but needs to know how to. Thanks!

My pics of my old stand are nowhere to be found.... I made a stand out of 2x4's. 2x4 perimeter top/bottom.... with 2x4's at each corner and two on the front & back so they are 2 or so ft apart.... All verticle supports have two 2x4'sl screwed together with a shorter one sitting between the top/bottom perimeter pieces so the weight is held there & a longer one which is mostly there for bracing. You can either cut a piece of plywood to act as a bottom of the entire stand or use a couple cross braces both on the top and bottom
Sorry about my horrible description & lack of pictures

There are several ways to build a nice stand. One thing to consider is, if you build your own stand, the warranty on the tank is void unless it is on the manufacturers stand.

I am in the process of building one now... as a reference I have been using Lazylivin's post on his tank as it has the "look" we want
