Twizted Corner
« on: July 20, 2013, 13:21:37 »
I'm calling this one Twizted Corner. Going to be a 92 gallon corner predictor tank. Going to have a 20 gallon long sump with a small refugium area. Not sure about lighting yet, but will figure it out some day. I already have some fish for it and more to come soon. I have the sand and rock that came out of the triple 30 in a 100 gallon tub with power heads and cheato. So will be ready to go when I can get the tank plumbed and done. Hope to have water in it by Sunday evening. And sump up and going Monday night. So hope to have fishes in it by end of next week. Pics of T.C. Coming soon.

This white silicone makes my already bad job look worse. But it will be hidden.

Ran into a bit of a set back. I cracked one of my bulk heads. So I had to order another one. Should be here tomorrow. So that puts me at Friday before I can proceed. But I'll keep the thread posted. My wife is making me do this tank. So it has to turn out nice. Or I'll be turning out on the couch. Lol, not really.

Has just been one thing after another with this build. But water is flowing. And I have found snails and pods everywhere. I had 2 heaters break in the tank since last night. Can't figure that one out. Then today I broke the glass top trying to drill a hole in it for my return line. I have a new piece of glass being made & I'm going to let them drill it. Anyways her are some pics.

Water has cleared up some.

I was going for that rock slide effect. Lol it looks better now.

There's not a lot of room under there. The fuge are is very small. But hold a softball size chunk of cheato pretty good.

Looking good. What size tank did you use for your sump? The shape of the corner stand makes it difficult. I may steal your design for mine.

Thanks guys.

The sump is a 20 gallon long. It's the biggest prefab tank that will fit in there.

Return line is ran. We are off to the races. Everything in the tank including 40 gallons of the water was in the triple 30. When I tore down the triple 30 I put all the rock, crushed coral ect in a 100 gallon tub to keep it all alive. I had 2 powerheads a heater and a big ball of cheato that doubled in size. So theoretically I should be able to just thro my fish in there and go. But I'm going to wait another couple of days. And keep an eye on things.

Got some fish in the corner now. Scored an amazing tusk from Tropical Reef in Toledo.

I'll try and get a better pic some time. Also picked up a baby snowflake from John at Tropical Reef.

And more to come very soon. I also have a raccoon butterfly in qt. I may have went a little crazy this weekend.
