90g FOWLR Peninsula tank
« on: August 04, 2013, 23:42:43 »
I thought I'd put this up now. I'm still getting supplies together. I picked up a corner overflow 90 gallon tank with piping, an ATO, A 29 gallon to make a wet/dry sump, and I still have the old light I had on my 75. I have a used AquaC EV-180 skimmer and a mag drive 18 that I found good deals on coming in the mail this week. Gotta love Ebay! I plan on using the mag drive 18 for a return pump and to drive the skimmer.

All I need to get now is a heater and a powerhead. After that comes the fun part. Making the sump, running plumbing, and building stand and canopy.

I Plan on building a stand with a small bar coming off of the side of it that I can put a couple stools at and making this a peninsula tank. I thought it was a neat idea. Ill start posting pictures of it as soon as I start building the stand.

In the meantime I ended up buying the first couple fish and put them in the qt tank. Nothing Like getting the cart before the horse.

Here's a picture of "Puff Daddy as the wife calls him. He's just a little guy.

I also got a brown morray for next to nothing. He's only about a foot long.

I've always liked porcupines. They have a ton of personality.

Time for an update. I just got the stand to the point where i can set the tank on it. I'm going to add the trim and sides a little later. Not sure if I still want to do a peninsula tank with this because of the layout of the room. I havent decided yet.

The puffer and eel are doing well in the qt tank. I also picked up this little gal whos been eating like crazy.
