brand new 125 rr
« on: October 01, 2007, 16:37:57 »
seen on craigs list today that gem city aquariums(don't know what it used to be but down on 73 in springboro) is going out of business.I went down there and he said he has 3-4 brand new reef ready 125gal with corner overflows and the stand pipe kits he would sell for 100 bucks a piece.I think he said he had 180rr's for 150.This is just what he told me so don't shoot me if he changed his mind, but not a bad price for new tanks. If I had the extra cash I would have bought one and put it in my garage.

Fish food,I got a bunch of his bagged reef grade sand, but still some left.He had a bunch of reef additives(2-part,magn,u name it),he said he is even selling the shelving.Everything is for sale.I think I might go back tomorrow for more frozen food.

I think you're right Gary. I heard they had new owners.  From what I heard a while back it wasn't going so well but I hadn't been there since the new owners bought it.

You're going to make me blow off work, go over, and come home with a new tank... then the wife will be mad, and I'll need a new stand, hood, lights, etc.

A GREAT prob to have (except for the upset wife part)... thanks for sharing!  :)

Today I got the last 2 bags of salt they had,the only 4 cans of freeze dried cylopeez,a mag drive 3 pump,a large can of marine 2 pelletts, and a large frozen pack of silversides for 44 bucks.

So. Do they have anything left?  Thinking about driving up from Cincy to look around, but don't want to make the trip if they are tapped out. Any tanks left for sale?

I think he had all the tanks left. There was still a couple of bigger mag pumps left, the freezer was full of frozen foods, and a lot of dry foods as well. Also a lot of reef dosing supplements.I seen a couple of jars of A.R.M. media for calcium reactors if any body needs them. There is probably more but that is all that really comes to mind.

Hmmm, sounds like it might be worth a drive.  Did you happen to see the prices on the frozen foods?

give them a call the owner is not offended he wants to liquidate so he will assist you with your questions.  it is 75% off for most items this is a steel and yes it may not be as much of a deal on food there is more markup there.

They have a 1 gal jug of purple up for $99 so that is around $25 with the discount that is a deal when the normal bottle costs $19-20 retail.

If anyone wants a two part b-ionic dosing system he is willing to part with it for $10 :) BRans new just had no price on it so that is what he came up with.

Thanks for the info Scott. I was thinking about heading down tomorrow but I realized I have to take Russell to the hospital for a chest X-ray and Echocardiogram. I may see what time we get done and head down later afternoon.
