We went to the zoo today. We were more impressed with their aquarium then the Newport aquarium. I have quite a few photos to share.

My family is going to take a trip there in the next few weeks.  The aquarium will probably make me want to upgrade to a bigger tank :o

My family and I have gone to both the Columbus zoo and the Newport aquarium numerous times and each time I get disappointed going to Newport.
I get frustrated because at the zoo there is more room but at the aquarium I feel like I'm always fighting through crowds.

Both are nice quality.  I'm still hoping to get to Boston's aquarium some time.
Thanks and God Bless,
John

very cool pics!!!

in the early 90's when I went there when their big tank was finished that is the first place I saw a sohal tang.  I thought it was the coolest fish I have ever seen and asked a friend who is in the fish business if he could get me one.  He did some research and his cost on a small one (1-2 inches) was $775.00 plus shipping...... Purple tangs were just about to hit the stores and they were going for $500.00+

300g tub o fish

I though I read earlier in the year that the Columbus Zoo was rated the number 1 zoo in America. Well, after some searching I found one of the articles.

This is really impressive to me. I have been to seven (mostly during my childhood) of the ten zoo's on the list and the Columbus Zoo ranks #2 to next to Disney's Animal Kingdom to me. Someday I would like to get out to see the San Diego Zoo because of all the prestige it gets along with its sheer size.

Three and a half days driving. Id rather spend the money and take a plane. We had too many cross country road trips as a kid and i dont want anymore anytime  soon.
