ive googled "war coral" and all those are definate favias with pronounced corallites/polyps. I was thinking about bringing it in earlier for ya to ID it, but forgot... its an oddball.
What do you mean by corallite? Each individual mouth/polyp, that has a skeleton underneath is a corallite. You can't seem them because it has swollen up.
It looks like my War Coral in the frag tank, but a different color. How big is each polyp? Roughly 1/4" or a tad bigger? Thats war coral, 1/2" larger would be Favia.
I said Favia because of the color, most war corals I have seen are a single color on the mouth, and outside. Where as Favia's sometimes have the stripes and mixed colors.
