Brittle Star living in Overflow

My Brittle Star has taken up residence in my overflow.  Been there for a long time.  I was looking in there today with a flashlight looking for my Neon Goby, that Brittle Star is HUGE !!!!!!!  I thought he would of died by now, but there he was, with a bunch of dead snail shells around him, don't know if he ate them or they just died in there.  He's kinda freaky looking.

What color is he? I pulled the backing off my tank, and found a pile of shells where my red one hangs out.

I had one that wedged himself between the overflow box and the back wall.  Whenever I would knock him down the next day he was up there!  never saw any sign of him eating snails but he lived there for about 6 months

Mine is in the part between the box and the part that has the slits in it that the water goes thru.  He's still there, big as ever .... lol   Every once in awhile he'll stick his arms out of the slits.
